La School for the Deaf elementary kids enjoy LSU Softball game
Members Bruce, Gary, and Joy had so much fun with the elementary students from the School for the Deaf. We had 20 kids and 7 adults. Mike the Tiger came to visit them, we bought them drinks and popcorn, and we got them some trading card sheets that they had signed by the team after the game. There was a precious little girl who was so amused by Bruce eating his french fries. She had a good time on his shoulders later.
Students of Louisiana School for the Deaf Enjoy a Night at The Box
The Kiwanis Club Youth Services committee hosted a group of students from the Louisiana Deaf School to the LSU Baseball game last night.
The students and staff had a blast. It was a cold night [51 degrees], but everyone had fun. The kids were treated to an official program, popcorn, soda, peanuts, LSU posters, LSU magnets and some great seats.
Our Club President Bruce Hammatt arranged for the students to move from the exposed left field bleachers to the cozy covered seats behind third base.
Joy Hammatt entertained the kids and helped get the food. Carl Benedict also helped make everything run smoothly for the students.
